Group Counseling provides individuals the opportunity to come together, under the guidance of one to two trained therapists, to work on improving their lives in one way or another. It is our mission to develop a genuine community, where individuals are encouraged and supported through honesty and vulnerability. Group Description: Have you experienced estrangement from a child or family member? Has your son or daughter—or another close family member—ended communication with you or significantly limited contact? You are not alone. Research indicates that approximately one-third of young adults have chosen “no contact” or very limited contact with one or both parents. Others may experience similar silence from a sibling or extended family member, sometimes without explanation.

Estrangement can be deeply painful and isolating—but you do not have to face it alone. This group offers a supportive space to learn from the experiences of others, share your own story if you wish, and explore a path toward God’s healing and hope. Participants are welcome to speak or simply listen as others share their insights and struggles.

Group Leader: This group will be facilitated by Scott Eldredge, MSW, LSW, Clinical Supervisor at Buxmont. Scott has been on staff at Buxmont since 1997 and also serves at Langberg Monroe Associates. He provides counseling for individuals, couples, and families, maintains a private practice, and has extensive experience working with family estrangement and other complex relational issues.

A support and skills group for middle and high school students who have a sibling with a disability.

For: Teens - Grades 6-12

Dates: November 9, 16, 23 & 30

Time: 6:00-7:30pm

Where: Buxmont Counseling Center, Souderton, PA

Length: 4 sessions

Cost: $25 per person, per session

Group Description: Growing up alongside a brother or sister with a disability can bring pride, love, frustration, responsiblity, and everything in between. All of it is normal. This group gives you a space to connect with other teens who get it.

We’ll explore the following:

*Understanding Our Emotions: Make sense of the big (and sometimes mixed) feelings.

*Friends and Family Life: How family life shows up with friends, at home, and at school.

*Identity and Future Plans: Who we are beyond the “sibling” role, and what we want ahead.

*Advocacy: Confidence and tools to speak up for ourselves and others.

Every session includes quiet reflection, group time, and hands-on skill building.

*Space is limited. Register by 11/5.
